Melbourne
Habitat HQ St Kilda
This was the first hostel for me to stay at in Australia and it couldn’t have been better! The hostel is really clean with a lot of facilities, like free breakfast, free WIFI, free tours, free dinner on Thursday and a lot more! I stayed at a 6-beds dorm with our own personal bathroom. Everyday the room was cleaned and there was a great atmosphere. Habitat HQ is located in St Kilda, which is known for the many backpackers and the relaxed vibe. I can really recommend this hostel!
Nomads All Nations
The second hostel was located in the center of Melbourne, with everything in walking distance. Nomads All Nations is a really big hostel which is awesome to meet as many people as possible. They have female-only bathrooms and nice big dorms. They provide free rice and pasta everyday + free coffee and tea and the staff is really helpfull with all your questions. There is a MAD travelshop and a bar beneath the hostel. If you are looking for fun, Nomads All Nations is the right place for you!
X-Base Melbourne
I only stayed one night at Base but I found this a really nice hostel! The room is really clean with an own bathroom. They organize events every night and I got a free Melbourne booklet with a lot of useful information. It is located in St Kilda and has a nice atmosphere
- Living in a sharehouse
I got the opportunity to experience living in a sharehouse and it was awesome! You have the chance to settle down a little bit but still be around travellers. I shared my room with two other girls which was absolutely fine. We had our own bathroom and kitchen and in total there were 8 people living in the house.
