Being a local in Cairns, I thought I knew all the best places to eat for breakfast and dinner BUT recently I was introduced to ‘Mama Coco’s’ located just outside the heart of the city….

Not only is it good value for money but te food is not only amazing BUT outstanding!

If you’re looking to get out of the city and try something different from the average backpacker meals in Cairns… It is well worth the journey.

Cairns Zoom and Wildlife Dome is an all weather wildlife exhibit enclosed by a 20 meter high glass dome. Inside you will find crocodiles, snakes, koalas, birds and more. Most of these animals are free to roam the enclosure. Guess which ones!

Back in 1992, a dozen or so core members of the fledgling Noosa Malibu Club (established in 1986) had come up with a a great idea. A longboard surfing contest that would celebrate Noosa’s perfect point break waves and unite the growing tribe of traditionalist surfers, just as the Malfunction event had begun to do on the Gold Coast in the mid-80s, along with the Alex and Byron Classics. A weekend amateur comp that quickly grew into Friday, Noosa was cool, rootsy and fun.

Now this small comp is blown out into a not to be missed festival with music, food, drink and of course surfing. Be sure tocCheck out the Zinc Stage at first point for live bands and the rest of the entertainment on Hastings St.

Last year Triple J (a radio station in Australia) came up with the Road Trip Relay. They called out to their listeners to Instagram, photograph and video document their travels around Australia over summer 2012/2013.  Over 2000 listeners replied to the call and hit the road over the last summer.  All they while documenting their amazing travels.

Whitehaven Beach. Come see Australia’s Best!

Whitehaven Beach has been named third Best Beach in the World.  It came pretty close behind a remote beach in Sicily, Italy called Rabbit Beach and Grace Bay, Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos.

Whitehaven Beach is on Whitsunday Island in the beautiful Whitsundays off the coast of Queensland.  With over seven kilometres of pristine sand along the island you will see why it has been named the Best Beach in the World in previous years.

Beaches in Brazil, Spain, Puerto Rico, Bermuda and Aruba also featured in the top 10, praised for their white sands and swaying palm trees.

There was one big surprise in the Trip Advisor list: coming 10th was Rhossili Bay in Swansea, Wales, which beat beaches in Hawaii, the Caribbean and more exotic locations to make the top 10 list.

Rhossili Bay, on the Gower Peninsula, stretches for five kilometres and its vast expanse of sand backed by sand dunes and towering cliffs make it popular with surfers, paragliders and ramblers.
